FlipYo is a peer-to-peer platform that lets people in Copenhagen borrow and lend everyday items — from power tools to party gear — quickly, safely, and sustainably.

Creating an account and browsing items is completely free. Fees apply only when a transaction happens, such as borrowing an item (small rental + deposit), or for premium features like promotional listings.

Power tools, kitchen appliances, outdoor gear, party equipment, electronics, and kids' items and toys. Just no cars or homes — we focus on everyday, practical things.

All users go through ID verification and build a rating history after each transaction. You'll also see badges and TreeCoin activity on profiles — signs of active, trustworthy users.

Yes — optional insurance add-ons are available during the lending setup. For high-value items, we recommend using this feature for extra peace of mind.

FlipYo holds a security deposit for each borrow. If an issue arises, we offer mediation support and, if needed, dispute resolution to help ensure you're compensated.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Borrowers pay the rental fee and deposit upfront. Lenders receive their earnings after the item is returned in good condition, minus FlipYo's platform fee.

When you lend out items, FlipYo plants trees in your name through Klimaskov Fonden. You'll earn TreeCoins, unlock badges, and see your "forest" grow in the app — plus you can share it on social media.

Some lenders choose to offer free lending, especially for kids' toys or sustainability tools. You'll still need to verify your ID and pay a refundable deposit. FlipYo insists that at least one tree is planted for every transaction, however small.

FlipYo is currently available only in Copenhagen, starting in Amager. This ensures enough listings and a great local experience. You can join a waitlist if you're outside the city.

Absolutely. Whether it's just one lawnmower or a whole shed of tools, there's no limit to how many items you can list.

Yes. FlipYo is available via mobile app (iOS/Android) and as a web platform, both fully responsive and easy to use on the go.

Both are possible. You and the other user can coordinate a hand-off, or arrange delivery through the platform where the lender offers it.

You can cancel a borrow request before it's accepted with no penalty. Once accepted, cancellation terms vary depending on timing. FlipYo encourages respectful, timely cancellations.

Once the item is returned and marked as such, Stripe releases the funds to your connected account. Payments typically arrive within 1–3 business days.

FlipYo charges a percentage of each completed transaction to cover payment processing, insurance facilitation, customer support, and the TreeCoins programme. See our Terms of Service for the current rate.

Yes — as long as it's clean, safe, and functional, you're welcome to list it. FlipYo celebrates reuse, and many users prefer well-loved gear over buying new.

Yes. FlipYo does not allow cars or motor vehicles, real estate or home rentals, weapons or hazardous items, or medical and hygiene-related equipment. See our Terms of Service for the full list.

FlipYo is available in both English and Danish, with all key features and support in both languages. Listings can be written in either, depending on the audience.
